March 4 – Community Appreciation Day
Help us celebrate current and former Police, Firefighters, First Responders and military including Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and non-profits for all of the great work these collective groups do for the Henrico community. A full day of A-10 women’s basketball celebrating those that help make our community a great place to call home.
March 5 – Chamber on the Courts
Join us for a unique networking event that brings together members of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce, ChamberRVA and Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce on the courts at the Henrico Sports & Events Center. Tickets on sale! Admission to the 5pm game is included with this event. More info!

Kelsey Heintz is the co-owner and editor-in-chief of The Richmond Experience, a local, independent media outlet that covers all there is to eat, drink, see, and do in the River City. After earning her degree in English from JMU, she lived in the Northern Virginia and San Diego areas, applying her wordy prowess to blogs, instructional guides, friends’ Instagram captions, and just about every line in between. Kelsey moved to Richmond in 2018, settling(ish) first in Scott’s Addition, then in Church Hill, before finding a suburban spot that gives her and her family just a bit more room to grow. You can usually find her reading yet another thriller or rewatching whatever Friends episode she rewatched least recently.

Monica Smith-Callahan has served as Henrico County’s Deputy County Manager for Community Affairs since 2020, bringing extensive experience in public service, community engagement, and regional collaboration. She provides strategic oversight of key county agencies including Social Services, Recreation and Parks, Public Library, Voter Registration and Elections, and Outreach and Engagement, while also leading special initiatives such as the county’s COVID-19 vaccination response and the creation of Teen Summit RVA, a regional youth leadership program. Previously, she held senior roles with the Virginia Department of Education, Comcast Metro Richmond, ChamberRVA, and Richmond 2015, Inc. Monica is an award-winning leader, holds degrees from George Mason University and Strayer University, and serves on several regional nonprofit and educational boards.
Cara Holdsclaw, Ph.D., is a senior athletics executive currently serving as Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations at Princeton University, where she leads marketing, brand management, communications, ticketing, and multimedia strategy. She previously held senior leadership roles at Columbia University Athletics and served as Chief Operating Officer of IBE Inc., overseeing operations, partnerships, and nationally recognized sporting events. Holdsclaw is widely recognized for her leadership in revenue generation, diversity, equity and inclusion, and NIL strategy, earning national honors including the 2024 Charles A. Whitcomb Service Award. Her career spans collegiate and professional sports, including roles with the LA Clippers and Indiana Fever, and she holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from Indiana University.
Melissa Chase is a longtime broadcast professional whose energy and positivity have connected with TV and radio audiences for more than 20 years. She currently hosts ABC8’s lifestyle show Showcase and previously served as Vice President of Programming for Audacy Houston, while also working as an on-air personality for Mix 96.5. Her career includes award-winning radio and television hosting, as well as appearances across major national networks and digital campaigns. A Richmond native and Kent State University graduate, Melissa is also deeply committed to community service, actively volunteering with several local and national nonprofits while balancing family life and a passion for music, creativity, and youth sports.
Sherma S. Francis, MS, PA-C, is a physician assistant with OrthoVirginia who brings a strong background in health, fitness, and patient care to her work helping individuals return to active lifestyles. A native of Trinidad and Tobago who now calls Richmond home, she transitioned from owning a fitness business into clinical practice, where she assists in orthopedic surgeries and supports patient recovery. Sherma holds a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants, and she maintains an active lifestyle through early-morning workouts, running, squash, and community engagement.
